Ogonnelloe Hurling Club

Ogonnelloe had a well earned victory over Killanena in this Clare Cup game played at Killanena on Sunday last.

Despite playing against the wind in the 1st half the visitors made a much better start and had early points from Eoin Sheedy and Barry Kiely along with a goal from Patrick Mooney. Killanena kept in touch with three pointed frees and two more points from play but Ogonnelloe finished the half stronger and had points from Paul Healy and Peter O`Brien to give them a 1-5 to 0-5 half time lead.

Killanena tried hard to get themselves back into contention in the second half but Ogonnelloe remained in control and three goals from full forward Barry Kiely put the result beyond doubt to enable Ogonnelloe run out winners on a 4-8 to 1-8 scoreline. Best for the winners were Peter O `Brien, Paul Healy, Barry Kiely and Colm Forde.
